"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

This first picture is a picture of Kamrie a year ago last July. We lovingly titled it, "At least she took her clothes off!" In a matter of minutes she had climbed into my craft closet, pulled out my paint tupperware, and continued to DUMP about 20 bottles of craft paint onto our new carpet. Did I mention that we had only been in our new house three weeks when this happened?? We still have a stain...

You might ask why I am posting this picture on our blog when it happened a year ago. The answer is: it looks as if July is not our month! When I went to get Kamrie out of rest time today, I walked passed the bathroom and noticed the light was on. When I opened the door to turn off the light this is what I found....
That is a PILE OF HAIR! You can't even tell how tall the pile is from this picture. There were fine little pieces of hair EVERYWHERE!!!! I didn't know whether to laugh/cry/scream/???.... I had so many emotions at that moment I can't even describe it. I knew I needed a good laugh before I went in to see/talk to Kamrie or I'd lose it, so I called my sister in law Ashlie (who happens to have two darling little girls around Kamrie's age). I told her what happened and that I hadn't seen Kamrie yet, and we both had a good nervous laugh. Thanks Ashlie! When I went in to see Kamrie this is what I found:

I quickly called a sister in our ward who cuts hair and asked if she could squeeze us in sometime before Sunday. We ended up going over that night! Thanks Ang for being such a life saver!
Look at the chunks! Look at how short! Are those bangs??? Oh my goodness, I still can't believe it!
The "after" shots. Look at how far back her "bangs" go.
You can still see where patches of her hair are missing. Considering what Ang had to work with, she did wonders! That girls got talent!
Unfortunately hair was not the only thing Kamrie cut today (notice the hole in the sleeve)....This July I am titling this picture as "This time she didn't take off her clothes!"

We headed to Milwaukee for the 4th of July weekend, and we had such a good time seeing familiar sights and visiting with good friends!
This is Kamrie with "Prez" (our previous branch president) riding a tractor
A stop in Milwaukee wouldn't be complete without waterskiing with Prez!

The Peterson's neighbors have a farm and it was fun to see and pet all of the baby animals

The annual "cul-de-sac of Fire" BBQ with all of our old neighbors

Dinner at Prez and Turks house the night before we left

We were able to go to fast and testimony at the city branch on Sunday. It was one we will never forget!

Thanks Milwaukee friends for feeding and housing us this past weekend!
It was great to see you all again!
