"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbors children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

Never leave an open box of unfrozen otter pops on the floor. The kids will get into them, open up a bunch, and spray them all over your clean carpets.

Some days this is all too true! :)

I came home from the grocery store to find this:

My neighbor (a pharmacist) standing on a ladder (in my flower garden) helping my husband (a doctor) drill a hole in the siding (outside) for....... an internet cable?

Last time I checked that was NOT a course in either Medical school or pharmacy school.
(But look at those smiles! They're so proud of themselves.)

The internet still works. Who knew they had it in them?
A BIG thank you to the Better Homes and Gardens Big Book of Home How-To's. I will be returning you back to the library first thing tomorrow morning. :)

It's time for black dirt and compost!

In just two days we moved 3 TONS of dirt!
That's over 6,000 pounds!

End result: garden space for 5 tomato plants

Was it worth it? Check back in two months to see if they produce any tomatoes, and then I'll tell you. :)

Good news: After two weeks worth of rock removal we finally hit dirt....
Bad news: The dirt was clay. NOT great for the veggie garden I had envisioned. Sooooo.....
THIS is what we've been up to.

Nothin' like having all of the trash cans from your house filled with dirt and inside your honda civic trunk.

Ryan had an anesthesia conference up in Minneapolis/St. Paul the end of April, and the kids and I decided to tag along.

Before we put down the luggage, Kamrie was jumping/leaping from bed to bed, and Tyler was pushing all of the phone buttons. Awesome.

A dip in the pool before bedtime.
(While Ryan was in meetings the next morning I attempted to take both of my NON-swimmer kids (who THINK they can swim) back to the pool by myself. THAT was an adventure...)

Movie time

Before we headed home we took the kids to the Mall of America to ride on a few rides.

One of the trip's highlights was watching the planes land at the nearby airport from the top of the parking structure at the Mall of America. So fun! We wish we could have spent the rest of the day up there.
